The March/April issue of Construction Today,  focusing on Green Building, featured a story about The Godfrey Hotel that opened in February of this year. Construction companies across the nation look to Construction Today for market trends and training techniques.

The hotel was nicknamed the “The Mummy of River North” because it was wrapped in vinyl for four years after the hotel project was halted during construction in 2008. The 120,000-square-foot hotel is now open and gaining lots of chatter among the hospitality community. The roofscape on the fourth floor terrace hosts Libart’s retractable enclosure, also called a “retractable roof” to offer a convertible event space for the hotel. This space is the perfect dynamic party and event space open to the Chicago skyline.

The editorial reads:  Libart is proud to have partnered with The Godfrey Hotel for its stunning I|O Urban Roofscape. The moving structure and folding side doors are a classic example of Libart’s expertise in retractable enclosure systems. The Roofscape offers sunny daytime lounging and open sky parties in the evening. The hospitality industry has an increasing desire for outdoor dining and Libart addresses each location with a custom design.
